SZENT TAMÁS FURMINT DRY 2011

Szt. Tamás is one of the most expensive vineyard hills in its commune. The soil is rich clay with very characteristic reddish minerals. A powerful wine with volcanic structure on the palate and great minerality complemented by discreet notes from the oak. Mouth-watering acidity with fresh fruit flavours and a long mineral finish. A real terroir wine.

Furmint grapes were harvested on the second part of September. Whole bunches were pressed and we fermented the wine in Zemplén oak barrels. After fermentation we matured the wine for six months in 300 litre and 500 litre barrels. The final blend has a proportion of 15% new oak.
A superb companion to barbecued white meats, even some more serious veal and pork dishes. Perfectly matched with traditional Hungarian meat cuisine.
Serving temperature at 11 – 13 °C.
