ISSUE NO.09 TOKAJI FORDíTÁS 2016

After late spring frosts, a fine summer, and good botrytisation in the autumn we harvested concentrated, intensely-flavoured grapes and aszú berries - quality was exceptional, showing a precise balance of richness and acidity with excellent depth and structure. Fordítás is a traditional Tokaji style whereby pressed aszú paste is re-macerated in fermenting must. Our Fordítás 2016 was made using 100% Furmint grapes from the pressed paste of 6 Puttonyos Aszú.

After re-pressing and finishing fermentation the wine was filled into 500 litre Hungarian oak casks in our extensive, deep, underground cellars to mature for over two years.
The wine has a beautiful bright golden colour, a powerful nose of dried red fruits and plenty of botrytis character. On the palate it shows notes of honey and nuts, with a typical full body, lively acidity and powerful structure.
Serve cool with Asian food, spicy meats, desserts and blue cheeses.
