The vintage was good from aszú berry quality and quantity point of view however it was an excellent one for base-wine, dry wines, szamorodni and late harvest wines. Hand picked Aszu berries were macerated with top quality base wines. After pressing and fermentation the wines had a perfect balance. They were transferred into 300 litre Hungarian oak barrels, then it was aged for three and a half years long.
Serve at 10 – 12 °C. This is the wine which pairs best the dark chocolate but goes very well with blue cheeses also.
BIRSALMÁS – TOKAJI ASZÚ 6 PUTTONYOS 2003
The Birsalmas vineyard is our smallest vineyard. Soil: rich, volcanic top soil, loess pockets.
A beautiful golden wine with plenty of dried fruits, apricot jam, vanilla and tobacco. Extremely rich nose. Spicy vanilla and fig. Very fine, elegant acidity provides perfect balance to the high sugar. An almost eternal finish.
