For this wine, we used a blend of healthy and botrytised grapes with a total potential alcohol of 15.5%. The original batch was the base must of the Mézes Mály Aszú 6 puttonyos. After pressing and fermentation, the wine was aged for 5 and a half years in used Zemplén oak barrels in the Dry Szamorodni cellar. Over this time the wine matured under a thin veil of flor, losing around 0.5% alcohol per year.
Dry Szamorodni is the traditional style of dry Tokaji, unique to the region. The nose is full of nutty, almond aromas, and dried fruits. Dry as a bone on the palate, fresh with a balanced and savoury finish.
Serve at 12°C on its own or as an aperitif. Also ideal with aged cheeses, olives, capers, and seafood dishes.
