Rich on the nose with dried plums and hints of medicinal plants. A bit minty, leathery on the finish with a touch of smokiness.
Lots of dried fruit, sour cherry and mainly red berries on the palate. Velvety touch in the end with a long and fresh aftertaste.
Enjoy this wine on its own instead of a dessert.
Serving temperature 10˚ – 13˚C.
THE FIRST DECADE BOJTA 1990
Bojta single vineyard is located on the north-western part of the historical vineyards of Tállya village, neighbour to Mád. It has a lot of small south facing parcels, majority planted of Hárslevelű and Furmint, at an average age of 50 years. Royal Tokaji owned some parcels on this location, now managed by small producers. Soil type: rich clay, layers of rhyolite and andesite with good water manage.
The dry and warm summer was followed by a rainy and cold autumn. The harvest started late with only limited botrytis development. Medium quantity vintage. High quality only obtained from late harvested vines. Despite limited volumes, some good quality Aszú berries were picked.
