Overripe and botritysed Furmint grapes were harvested in October and in the beginning of November. After pressing and fermentation, the maturation took place for 15 months in 300 litre, second and third filled Hungarian oak barrels.
Serve at 12°C on its own or with foie gras.
Also ideal with aromatic and spicy Asian cuisine, fresh fruits and desserts.
ISSUE NO.08 TOKAJI SWEET SZAMORODNI FURMINT 2017
Gold colour with intense floral, fruity and spicy aromas. Very rich, round but good balance on the palate with hints of stone fruit and honey. It has an excellent ripeness, a smooth, rich texture and a clean, long-lasting finish.
After a chilly January, the temperature has rose step by step and continuously. Relatively high temperature in summer contributed to a quite early ripening and the early set of the botrytis. An outstanding vintage with nice balance in the dries and unbelievable richness in the sweets.
